      Each year, the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery presents an Annual Resident Research Day Symposium to celebrate accomplishments of the department’s residents, fellows, staff and students. For this year’s event, submitted abstracts featured work including all the department’s divisions and all its affiliated hospitals. The symposium highlighted the ways that veterinary scientists advance basic and applied research to support evidence-based medicine and enabled participants to gain insights into careers in biomedical research. The meeting featured poster presentations from veterinary students.
